Client’s Need

Monitoring of the state of the health of hydroponics culture placed onboard to the space home product of Thales, inside to the main target of improve life quality of the astronauts that live on the spaceship on the space for medium – long period of time.

Approach

2D Computer vision AI based solution that exploiting RGB and NoIR cameras, detects state of health indexes (such as NDVI) and merging this information with AI returns a classification of the health of the plants. The solution is integrated on the edge target and on the space home prototype.

  • Detection of the state of health of the plant exploiting low cost hardware and with highperformance in operative conditions
