Client’s Need

Supporting operators in Root Cause Analysis. Failure analysis of a complex system such as an automotive engine in testing fleets are usually identified too late because fleet analytics require to identify different groups of comparable situations depending on environmental conditions and driver styles and habits.

Approach

Analysis of the textual description of the failure associated with images collected in the field (if available) allows similar cases to be identified. Associating a probability that it is the same failure can help to identify cases of failure that are not trivial.

  • The use of NLP technologies allows textual descriptions of faults written by personnel with different levels of English proficiency to be compared.
